Since 1999, North Kimberley Airport has grown through investment in the development of our infrastructure and people and utilisation by customers from a number of industries, including the oil and gas and tourism sectors, Defence and border protection. North Kimberly Airport has successfully operated for over 20 years, ensuring strong and sustainable social outcomes for the Wunambal Gaambera people and surrounding communities and our shareholders.

North Kimberly Airport has extensive experience in planning, delivering & operating regional airport infrastructure. Situated in a very remote location, our organisation has extensive expertise in delivering air logistics services to oil and gas operators as well as to defence and border protection agencies in the region.

The longstanding strong relationships that North Kimberly Airport has established with the oil and gas operators operating in the Timor Sea, such as Inpex, PTTEP, Jadestone, Petrofac, Shell and previously Woodside, are a testament to the great reputation the airport has for delivering a consistently high standard of service to a demanding sector, where safety is a critical factor in all operations.

North Kimberley Airport is the aerodrome operator of the largest all-weather airport in the far north Kimberley. North Kimberley Airport was given CASA registration R093 in April 2005.

Using North Kimberley Airport with its all-weather sealed runway provides significant operational and safety efficiencies for aviation operations in the Kimberley and Timor Sea areas of northern Australia.

North Kimberley Airport complies with CASA’s Manual of Standards (MOS) 139 regulations and allows aircraft of up to a MOTW of 39T to land at the airbase.

As a result, North Kimberley Airport can support narrow-body airline and charter traffic, making direct flights to and from state capitals a feasible option for oil and gas operators, as well as enabling emergency support services to be provided to offshore operations and the ability to facilitate convenient visits by company executives to offshore facilities.
